sunrise sunset sunrise sunset

I want to start by thanking all of you who prayed, sent messages and texts last week. I do believe they made a difference, we seemed to reach a turning point after the post. Thursday early morning was our last panic attack. Bycemaster has been function and back at work since Thursday afternoon. We are still continuing on with the cardiologist appointment this afternoon, but not out of any real need anymore. We are continuing on with our chosen course of actions and are happy and excited that life has, for the most part, returned to normal. As quickly as it came, it went, and now life goes on.

This weekend was my sister’s birthday and with Bycemaster feeling good again I was able to do some celebrating with her. We spent her actual birthday morning up way too early. We drove to the beach to watch the sunrise. It was good. I think we are both ready to put the night behind us and start new in the sun.

Thanks for walking this journey with us, enjoy the sunrise 🙂

a brief baby update and a big girl dances

I’m breaking radio silence. Briefly. We (read I) have dealing with a bit of an emotional upheaval the last few weeks and have not really been in the frame of mind to write. Things are still sort of in limbo and I’ll share more when we know what’s going on, but for now.

Here’s our brief update

We heard from  one of the other grants, and we were declined. This one was kinda of expected because they prioritize their money to people with no children first. But it was an easy application and we went for it anyway, oh well.

I had a birthday, it was low key and nice. The kids got me blue hair, new pens, rubber grippers (for those pesky jars my sore hand has been having trouble with lately) and straws with spoons on the end. Minus that last one, which I’m pretty sure was just for them, the others were all very thoughtful and insightful gifts for me. Maybe they are listening more than I realize. I also got a beautiful new journal from Bycemaster, very much looking forward to that.

Our Jena had her dance recital this weekend as well. She was in dance when she was in preschool, but preschoolers just kinda sway back and forth and spin in a circle for their recitals. This was actually real dance and she did amazing. I’ll claim credit for her love of dance, but she got her physical ability from her daddy. Just to clarify Bycemaster used his in sports, I’m sure he’d like you to know, same difference to me! Regardless, it made a good combo 🙂

Here she is afterwards.

That’s all for today! We gotta run, ’tis the season!

hair results are in and done, finally!

So the color results are in! I’ve always been a fan of purple, despite it’s repeated mixed results on my head. But purple and cobalt blue tied on the poll so, for you guys, I gave it another shot.

We kinda mixed the blue and purple, hoping to make the purple last a little longer. It has been known to begin fading before I even wash it. But if any of you see me in person, you know, tomorrow, and it already looks faded, you’ll know my experiment didn’t work. I also skipped my run this morning so I didn’t have to rinse or wash my hair. Just to enjoy it another day. Priorities people.

Side note: the bleaching step of this process was the most ridiculous in between I have ever had. I’ve had to bleach my hair lots of times, color will not show up on  my hair otherwise. Each time I think, that’s kind of ok. I could live with that for a bit, and then I put color on top anyway.

This time I looked in the mirror after I washed the bleach off and screamed holy lord cover it up quick. No you will not be getting a picture of that. It was awful, but it was just a means to an end, but it was so awful. Think like cheetah on crack bad. You know it’s not just you freaking out when you walk down the stairs and your sister busts out laughing. Sisters keep it real people. But the end result I am happy with, so as Pete the cat says, it’s all good.

If you’ll allow me a second side note, we are three hours into day two with no eye twitch! I feel this is cause for celebration. I have never had an eye twitch last over two weeks before. I’ve never had one last more than one day before. But I’m so hoping it is gone for good.

Anywho I’m off to go fill out our DCF paperwork, again. I’m putting it out there. I’m mailing it today. It is going to happen. Till next week.

Happy Birthday Jacob boy!

We celebrated a birthday over here this weekend. The littlest boy in the house is now six. SIX. That’s like a whole new category of kid, he’s no longer little. The last week he was five I think I told him he was only 5 about 100 times. Only 5, you are still only 5. But no more, he is officially 6 now.

Dear Six year old boy,

You have been eagerly anticipating this birthday. This is the year I told you quiet time could go away and you could having reading time downstairs with the big kids instead. You are thrilled, I am dealing.

You have learned so many new things this year. You overcame your fear of putting your head under the water and lo and behold you swam. Right away, first lesson I did with you and you were getting your head above water. You spent the rest of the summer turning yourself into a fish. Pool time this year has been amazing for all of us, you were my last non swimmer and now you are a fish, we have had lots of pool time. You also learned to ride a two wheeled bike this year. Various adults and big kids had ran with you and that little bike at the beginning of the year, but just a month or so ago it clicked and off you went. You are also reading now. Though you and I are of different opinions on this. You have not taken off and hit your stride yet like your brother and sister so you do not believe you are reading. The stack of books you have read continues to grow however and I believe you can. Watching you realize it yourself is something I am very much looking forward to in this next year of your life. I cannot wait to see what things will grab your attention once you realize you can pick up any book and read it.

I do not think I can adequately express how much you are loved. I am not sure I am even going to try this year. To put it in your terms, we love you even more than you love your beary, who had to come down and sit with me this morning while you were playing cops with your brother. I suppose there is some little boy left in their yet.

Much love,

Mommy

Just a mini photo real of my boy, my personal favorite is the last one. This kid has personality 🙂

what ‘first day of school’ pics look like when you homeschool

It’s not really our first day of school, I’m a slave driver and I don’t give them summer break (or at least that’s how they like to sell it to anyone that asks how they are enjoying their summer break!) I do however, enjoy seeing how the kids grow from year to year in ‘first day of school’ pics so I try my best to remember to take them.

Ironically we are actually not doing “school” per se this morning. We are field tripping it. We are kicking off our Year of Science with the Mummy’s at the Orlando Science Center. It should be significantly less crowded with the rest of the child population back in school. There are perks to being different. Less crowds for one. We get so spoiled during the school year. Parks mostly to ourselves, stores emptier, most field trips cheaper during the day when there is little to no demand. Love it.

Anyway here’s our ‘first day pics’

The personality shot

They were all personality shots with this one. This was the most “professional” of the bunch.

This is what I get when I say smile nice, lol.

He was very upset about something, I can’t remember what at the moment, look at those puppy dog eyes.

A momentary laugh for sister caught on blurry camera, it was that fast. Now you see it, now its gone!

IMG_3637

All of hers were this cute. Stepped right up, put on a smile. See kids, you could learn something from the little one.
